'Kilroy was here!' - Robbert&Frank/Frank&Robbert

(For the English version scroll down)

ENGLISH VERSION:

From Monday, 4th September in the morning to Friday, 8th September  2017, 17h.

For everyone (+18) who sees his environment as a wonderful canvas to create their own artistic interactions. Be welcome and take part in this masterclass with Frank&Robbert / Robbert&Frank!

From Monday 4th till Friday 8th September we’ll be exploring the possibilities of artistic interactions within Destelheide's infrastructure. By using images and performance, we’ll create and place our own story in space.

As intelligent beings, we humans continuously 'read' our environment. Usually, this leads to simple and practical conclusions, like: where do I have to walk in traffic to avoid being overtaken? Where can I go to the toilet without paying?

But what if our environment also captivates subtle messages? Messages of love - such as a heart engraved into the tree trunk, violent messages - such as a broken window at the bus station,  messages of madness - as the repetition of the same advertisement on each street corner and mysterious messages - like the 'Kilroy was here' graffiti tag during the second World war.

We'll present the results of this research in a dynamic scenography during SPOT ON, the festival in Destelheide on 16th September, 2017.

Who are Frank & Robbert / Robbert & Frank?

This artist duo from Ghent creates art based on a multiplication of visual arts, video work, theater and performances. The core of their work is transformation on the one hand and power on the other. They build an absurd universe with its own logic and code language. Their creations are influenced by American image culture, symbols and rituals, news, religion and space.
